HEALING ISN'T ONLY FLOWERS AND PETALS - ITS GUTS AND GORE TOO... Lucky Tyagi Shares her soulful thoughts on healing.

HEALING ISN'T ONLY FLOWERS AND PETALS - ITS GUTS AND GORE TOO

Healing as a word is currently fashionable and popular. Everyone and their cousin (me included) is talking about it.

Well, since I have an opinion on almost everything and generally am not shy about sharing it either (yesss! I am open and receptive to others opinions too, irrespective of whether I am in agreement or not) so today I felt compelled to talk about what healing means to me.eginning the first of the series of sharing on healing.....

Healing to me is more about the journey rather than a destination. It is a way of life, an ongoing vital process like breathing. Though unlike breathing healing is sometimes organic and other times it has to be voluntarily facilitated.

As life keeps throwing curve balls, some I manage to catch, some I manage to deflect, some fly by me, merely grazing me while others inflict wounds, soul deep.

Healing to me is about not succumbing to my wounds while still accepting them. It is also about accepting that even when the wounds heal, the scars may perhaps never fade.

Healing to me begins with the acceptance of the dark that needs light to be shined on to it. It is about acknowledging that pain exists in order to salve it.

Healing is about owning the hurt and the trauma, then releasing it ( through whatever modalities work best for you - more on that in a separate sharing ). To release we have to sometimes re-live the hurt and pain.

So healing isn't about flowers and petals only, they come later for sure - soft, soothing, and serene, but first, you have to tread the muck and rake it up to clean house and reach the garden.

We are a bunch of muddle heads, who want to change the world one “salute” at a time! We want people to say Salaam to themselves, say Salaam to their weaknesses, say Salaam to their fears, say Salaam to all the negative suggestions and thoughts around them and say Salaam to their life!
